i'm happy and BACK!

Woooooo…what a LONG crazy week…I have been neglecting my blog..I’m BACK!!!!!!! Last week was the craziest ever. Let’s see…I QUIT MY JOB! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! I got a new job at an AMAZING place! I started Monday and let’s just say that I LOVE it here! Everyone is so nice and welcoming and it’s in downtown! Smile.

Thursday night we had a pumpkin carving party at Amy's. i love Halloween!

Friday night we went to Boney Island. It’s at the producer of the Simpson's house. They completely decorate it for Halloween. This is actually the last year so if you have not gone, Please do! It’s amazing. Brandon’s mom knew the guy so we got a “special” tour. Boney Island here

Sat Jess and I threw our HALLOWEEN party at Colin’s. We had a GREAT turn out but a problem with the music. Long story but everyone had fun. Brandon and I dressed up as a UPS girl and her package! Smile.

Sunday I hung out with my mom and then we had dinner at our house for my parents. Family days are so fun.

Monday was THE day! My new job! EEEEEEEEEEEE!!! Everything is amazing right now and I wouldn’t change anything about my life right now. I feel so at ease and stress free right now. Sigh.

ENDoftheWEEK

I love when my weekends feel long! Friday we had people at our house and drank..tons. We had all of our besties there and even had a few special guest surprises. I love when our friends feel comfortable enough to show up without us knowing! Love! Long night that ended around 4. Jess, chad, Josh and Amy spent the night and when we woke up Jess and Chad were already gone…Amy and Brandon got an amazing idea to make breakfast. Monkey balls!

Mmmmmm. After we ate we were so worthless. We fell asleep and woke up at 4:30PM! The thought of alcohol seriously made me cringe. When we woke up the movie London was on.

Have you seen it? I have never even heard of it but I was seriously addicted!! It’s so good. It’s an ultimate love story but definitely not cheese. Love, drugs and fights. Yum. We took Josh home and passed out until 7ish. Brandon and I finally got out worthless selves up and went to dinner. Mmmm Sushi! We went home and fell asleep at 930ish. Yah I know…productive!
Sunday we went to breakfast with my older Bro and his GF in the city! Love them. They are so cute. Little did we all know that the Aids walk was going where we decided to eat so it took a while to get there and to leave. There were so many people walking. It was awesome to see and to know how much money they raised. The Dallas game started at 1:15 and we had some people over for football Sunday funday! Of course they won!! Woot. It was an early night. I definitely can’t complain about not getting enough sleep. Hah!

P.S.
Aren't our roomies so cute?!!!

sadness.

Thoughts and Prayers to all of the people who are affected by all of the fires. sickening that some may have been started on purpose. I could not imagine losing my house in a fire. sad.

so sad to read this: “I mean, God bless The Notebook,” Gosling says. “It introduced me to one of the great loves of my life. But people do Rachel and me a disservice by assuming we were anything like the people in that movie. Rachel and my love story is a hell of a lot more romantic than that.”

They broke up, is the thing. It’s been a few months. Gosling says it wasn’t the attention that did it, but other than that he doesn’t really know what to say. “The only thing I remember is we both went down swingin’ and we called it a draw,” he says.

STD rates increase.

scary and real. Please be aware of this statistic and be safe!!! one time can seriously ruin your life. i am happy that i am in a committed monogamous relationship but it's still so scary to know that 1 out of every 4-5 people have an STD. don't let it be you!! take care of yourself!

"HPV (590,000) and trichomoniasis (250,000) infections accounted for most of the infections, with chlamydia (180,000) a distant third.
The good news, Fielding said, is that HPV infections "are clearly vaccine-preventable, at least in part. . . . If every young woman had the HPV vaccine, this number would go down very substantially."

What do you guys know about Gardasil? If you are not familiar with it I encourage you to read up on it and learn more. Gardasil.com

Lead in lipstick?!

Treehugger.com states-
"Here’s yet another reason to look for organic and all natural beauty products, particularly when applying them to our smackers. A test by the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics found that 61% of the 33 lipsticks that they tested contained lead.

Additionally, one third of the lipsticks tested contained an amount of lead that exceeded the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s standard establishment. Of the brands that were tested, the more popular ones that contained lead included Cover Girl, L'Oreal and Christian Dior.

Although Fox News suggests that this isn’t enough to throw your lipsticks away, the report states that pregnant women and young children are particularly vulnerable. Proctor & Gamble, who makes Cover Girl and L’Oreal, stated that the quantity of lead a consumer might be exposed to from its lip product "is hundreds of times less than the amount that she would get from eating, breathing and drinking water."

GGOGH!

GoGreenOrGoHome!Ok, so I know I was supposed to post this yesterday but it was not a good day to blog. so here is my go green spirit!!! Do whatever you can big or small to help our environment.....unplug things you are not using and turn off lights when u can!

Re-route your commute.
Walk or bike to work and save money on gas and parking while improving your cardiovascular health and reducing your risk of obesity.
If you live far from your office, investigate the option of telecommuting. Or move closer—even if this means paying more rent, it could save you money in the long term.
If your streets are not conducive to biking or walking, lobby your municipal government to increase spending on sidewalks and bike lanes. With little cost, these improvements can pay huge dividends in decreased traffic and pollution.

Buy used.
Whether you’ve just moved to a new area or are looking to redecorate, consider a service like craigslist or FreeSharing to track down furniture, appliances, and other items, rather than buying them new. Check out garage sales and thrift stores for clothing and other everyday items.
Use your creativity in gift giving, including making homemade gifts, donating to a good cause, or even regifting. (And gift green, in general.)
Your purchasing habits have a real impact, for better or worse. When making new purchases, make sure you know what’s “Good Stuff” and what isn’t.

Buy local.
Shop at your local farmers’ market. Though the offerings can be more expensive, you can generally count on a higher quality product—and the entire purchase price goes directly to the farmer. Buying any goods produced locally saves energy by reducing the fossil fuels needed to transport food and other items across the country and around the globe.
Start a local currency program in your town. This can ensure that money stays in your local economy, valuing local services and supporting local merchants.

Compost your food scraps.
Composting helps reduce the amount of waste you send to the landfill, which can save you money if you live in a municipality with a “pay as you throw” system. In the process, you create free, healthy fertilizer for your garden (or your neighbor’s—or lobby for a community garden!)
If you don’t have a yard or space for a compost pile, try indoor ‘vermiculture,’ or worm composting.

Change the thermostat setting and install energy saving devices.
Setting your thermostat a few degrees lower in the winter and a few degrees higher in the summer can translate to substantial savings on your utility bills.
Install low-flow showerheads and take shorter showers to save water and the energy used to heat it. Or, consider eventually installing a solar hot water heater on your property.
Wash clothes in cold water whenever possible and use a drying rack or clothesline.
When incandescent bulbs burn out, replace them with longer-lasting, low-energy compact fluorescent bulbs.
With the money you save from making these changes, consider buying wind energy from your local utility or purchasing renewable energy offsets. Renewables offer our best hope for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, as well as a host of other pollutants. In some cases, “green energy” options can be cheaper than electricity from conventional sources!

Skip the bottled water at the grocery or convenience store.
Filter your tap water for drinking rather than using bottled water. Not only is bottled water expensive, but it produces large amounts of container waste.
Check out this recent update and life cycle analysis for the latest on bottled water trends.

Make your own cleaning supplies.
Using simple ingredients such as baking soda, soap, and vinegar, you can make cheap, easy, and non-toxic cleaning products that really work! Save money, time, and your indoor air quality.

Think twice about new electronics.
E-waste from discarded cell phones and computers is a growing environmental problem. Mounds of electronic refuse are being shipped abroad illegally for ‘disassembly’ by workers with little protection against the mercury and other toxic substances they contain.
Keep your electronics as long as possible and dispose of them responsibly when the time comes.
Buy higher-quality items and don’t give in to ‘psychological obsolescence’ marketing campaigns.
Recycle your cell phone and support good causes at the same time!
Ask your local government to set up a responsible recycling and hazardous waste collection event.

Add one meatless meal per week.
While strict vegetarianism isn’t for everyone, even the most devout carnivores can cut back on meat consumption without cramping their style—and save money in the process. Industrial meat production requires huge energy inputs and creates noxious waste problems. The proliferation of factory farms is damaging the environment, and the global nature of the industry creates conditions that promote the spread of diseases such as avian flu, potentially costing society billions.

Use your local library and other public amenities.
Borrowing from libraries, instead of buying personal books and movies, saves money and printing resources. Consider donating the money saved to your local library.
Be an active civic participant and ensure that the public spaces and facilities in your town are well maintained. This will promote a healthy, sustainable community.

PETA

"Steve-O put it perfectly in his interview with PETA: "Abuse yourself all you want," he says, "just leave animals out of it. Don't wear fur."

tooz.

Weekend update.

Friday night we went to a bar down the street from our house called Paladinos. Our friend was playing in a band and it was fun to see him. It was a pretty cool place for the “valley”. We drank at our house first and played a game of speed quarters and then went over. We were drunk by the time we got there…and I guess it didn’t help to take 4 shots while we were there. Crystal, Cindra and I got in to a deep, and I mean deep conversation about life. Smile. From there we went to Taco bell and I can’t write anymore about what happened after because I can not remember. Lol.
Saturday was chill. We hung out at Ryan and Cindra’s. Dinner and more drinking games. Perfect night!

Sunday we drove to Irvine for my cousin Jack’s 1st bday. ONE IF FUN! We had fun and it was great to see my familia.

Brandon and I were SUPER excited for the Dallas game! We left Irvine and rushed over to Cole’s for the tivo’d game. This was a HUGE game and I was hoping to be happy when it was over. Dallas lost. Sigh. It was an OK game up to the end…then we should have just walked off the field. Ugh. Why do we feel the need to scream at the TV as if the players can hear us?? I was hoping Tom Brady could hear me every time I said “I love you!”

Romo is a cutie too but didn’t play that great! Argh!
It’s ok…Dallas is still 5-1. Next time!!!
After the depressing game Brandon and I went to drown our sorrows at PinkBerry. Mmmm
The highlight of our weekend was when Brandon and I were talking on the way back from Irvine and he was saying how much fun we have been having with each other..And I looked over and admired how cute the cop was next to us…he then slowed down and pulled us over…we got an effing TINT ticket! ??!! What?!! Are you kidding? I was just saying how cute you were? Ugh! O well…it could have been worse!

Happy toozeday!

love them Cowboys!

Last nights game was intense....Although the night itself was awkward the game was heated. Romo wasn't in the game and the Bills should have won. Dallas should have walked all over them but no...they wanted to keep the cowboys fans on the edge of their seats/couch. Thank gawd for Folk's 53 yard field goal that won the game!!!!! we're 5-0!

Dallas (5-0) won, setting up a megamatchup with the unbeaten New England Patriots on Sunday at Texas Stadium.

Sunday will be a good game. eek!

Tuesday Bluesday.

Aside from feeling like crapola….my weekend was amazing. Friday we went out for a bday party to Social. I loved it. The music was the best part. From there we went to Basque. Not a fan of that place at all. Long drama filled story but lets just say that B and I didn’t get home until 4:30ish and had to take a cab. Bleh.

Saturday we had a B and B day. Loved it.

Sunday was one of the best days…we went on the “Out of the Darkness” walk.

“Every 16 minutes in the United States, someone dies by suicide. This year thousands of men and women will walk in over 100 communities across the United States, each contributing their voices to break the silence surrounding suicide. Walk to save lives...By walking in the 2007 Out of the Darkness Community Walks to benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), you will be walking with thousands of people nationwide to raise money for AFSP's vital research and education programs to prevent suicide and save lives, increase national awareness about depression and suicide, and assist survivors of suicide loss. ”

I must say that it was amazing to see all the people there who have experienced suicide with a parent, friend, sibling, relative or themselves. There were so many people there who are all going through the same thing. I think it helps to be around people who understand rather than hearing “everything will be ok” from someone who has no idea how you feel. It was a very emotional day. We were walking in memory of all the people that have taken their lives and it was an honor to be there and support AFSP! Most of you know why we went and it was an amazing feeling to walk in his honor.

If you haven’t read or heard about the Suzy Gonzales case I highly recommend you check it out. It’s amazingly disturbing how a website out there can exist. I am shocked that this is legal and can’t imagine how the people in her life feel. Depression is not a joke and when you turn to the internet to guide you, there should not be someone telling you to go ahead with the suicide. Sickening.

When we got home I played around on the internet and found the website where people will write on a forum expressing how sad and miserable they are with life and then they’ll get a response saying to CTB (Catch the bus). WHAT?!! This makes me so heated and sick to my stomach. The more people they get to sign the more this will become a law! Help if you can! We met her dad on Sunday and I know any parent would be fighting as hard as he is to make this a law. Please check out the websites below..It will only take 5 minutes out of your day to call or send in an email.

Thank you.

Suzy's law here! Please READ!

lovely lady lumps

cuteness!

TMZ.com

umm, no.

i am in a Blogtastic mood! maybe because it's Friday..or because i had a great night or because i started the morning off with homemade sprinkles cupcakes. mmm I made them! smile.

But i had to get this off of my chest....Why is there a restaurant in the Valley called Ate-18? but why? I'm all for the clever amazing ad's such as "Every Kiss begins with K" or "think outside of the bun"..Brilliant! But Ate-18?!! ugh...i'm embarrassed to live in the valley now. thanks.

Old School

So…I’m not sure what prompted this blog but I had to write……I’m sure we all remember using phrases like “that’s dope” and “did you guys scam”. How old school right? It’s so funny to think back on how we were and how we acted when we were young/er. Did you ever say TTFN or KIT? Or how about “that guy felt me up”?? wow..I remember being asked what “base” I went to with my BF. Base? It’s so funny. I remember going through a Princess stage. Everything I owned HAD to say princess on it. I was borderline obsessed. Sooo I can’t think of any more sayings but what about pagers?!! How was it that we communicated without cell phones and not to mention the intense codes we used… 1 177155 400. hah! And how all of your friends had a different code so you knew it was them…Mine was 7! 7 101135 816! 816 was Brandon..haha. or did you ever put a song on your voicemail reflecting the way you felt? I remember fighting with Brandon in the 7th grade and putting a song such as Heartbreaker by Mariah on my vmail so every time he paged me he can hear how I felt. Wow. OH and can we also not forget that we had to have the coolest brightest colors so that everyone noticed the pager clipped on to your overalls?! haha,So old school. It’s funny how cool we all felt back in the day. I never thought pagers would go out of style, ever!! Haha

If you remember any other old funny things you used to do please let me know…it’s amusing to hear!

Oohhhh.. I remembered another amazingly odd thing we used to do...Whiteout on the backpacks! wow. Mine was covered...i love Brandon, I hate Brandon. BFF 143143143..WOW..and patches on the backpacks. oiy. what a shame that the whiteout look has passed..imagine if we added whiteout to our designer jeans and purses. it can be so chic. yah, right! lol.

TGIF

I love date night. Brandon and I went to Benihana’s which is one of my favorite places to eat. We had the best dinner and the best conversations…love. From there we met Joey and a friend at a bar near our house. Her roommate was performing in a band. Overall it was a great night. it’s hard going out on a “school night” but at least it’s Friday!!! YAY!

Happy Happy Friday!!!
