Home for the Holidays!

Today is the last day at work for the year!! ULTIMO GIORNO!

Brandon and I are so excited to go home for the holidays! I honestly never thought I would say that. "home for the holidays" It seems so fake and then it hits me...we moved to Italy. right...

We are so excited to see everyone and share the holidays in the Cali sun! I am looking forward to leaving my large puffy goose down furry jacket in Florence and ready to get my skin out of this cold dry weather! :) We hope you all have a very Merry Holiday with the ones you love!

Life has been extremely challenging lately. I feel like we keep getting hit in the face with this unbearable news and its breaking us. I am drowning. I was drowning. We moved to Italy away from every person we know and love with the intention of conquering the world. I truly believe the world is missing a 'how to' deal with shit when you live as an expat. Someone should write a rule book on how to cope with heartbreaking news when you are away from the ones you love. What are the steps? How do we get through it? Why do some of our "friends" drop us because we don't live down the street? Why are they only our friends when we are happy? Why do bad things really happen in threes? I officially hate the number 3.

We are so blessed to have the family and friends who are there for us no matter what. Through thick and thin. I can't explain the feeling when a friend can make you feel normal again when nothing in your life seems to be normal. I know the news we have been dealt with wouldn't be less heartbreaking if we were home but it would be comforting to spend that time with our favorite people. I've been a debbie-fucking-downer lately and I am so blessed to have the friends and family (far&close) in my life who do what they can to make me smile. Thank you. It's helping me stay sane and grounded and I will forever love you all. 

To my sweet husband. I love you. I am the luckiest girl in the world to have the most amazing human by my side. He's perfect. Sure we have our downs but our ups are what keep me going. They keep me from drowning. I can't thank him enough for everything he does for me and for us. Our worlds keep falling apart and yet we walk out alive and healthy...and happy. He gives me strength every day and I admire his ability to pick us both up. He's an incredible man and I'm grateful he's my man. I often ask myself how I got so lucky to have him. It scares me sometimes...How, why, what, me??? But I will never take him for granted and I know what we have is beyond special. It's beyond magical. He is my whole heart. We are doing our best to be strong. We make one hell of a team and life always goes on. We are making the most out of this incredible experience and we will conquer the world. 

Brandon, it's because of you that I smile every day. It's because of you that I love life so much. I love our life together.

I don't care how poor a man is; if he has family, he's rich.

We drove up to Monterey last weekend for my brother's girlfriends college graduation. We had a great time with me familia! i am so thankful for all of their support.
Monterey is beautiful! B and I went to the Wharf and walked around. so nice to get out and away from the stress.....

when a man loves a woman......

Here's a few of the gajillion pictures we took on Saturday night. I wanted to make as much as I could and wanted lace everywhere!i know I say this all the time but we honestly have the very best friends and family in the whole world. My parents threw us the most amazing party ever! We are so blessed to have their support and so lucky and honored they hosted our engagement party. Their house looked beautiful and we lucked out with the weather. They moved out all the furniture in their house and had beautiful decorations everywhere!! They surprised us with cookie favors with a picture of us from the 9th grade (at our homecoming dance), water bottles that said "congratulations to Brandon & brandi", the caterers were wearing shirts that said "B Squared" and we all got "B Squared" hats. They also had a huge sign made that said Brandon & Brandi. sighhhhh!!!! It was the most amazing party in the world!!!! I didn't stop smiling all night! a HUGE thanks to Brandon's momma for helping with all the vases and for that incredible dessert table she made!!! we had so much fun making things and decorating and i couldn't have dreamt of anything better. I am so happy!!!

Boyfriend and I had a great weekend! we drove up to San Jose to hang out with B's sibs. we got to spend time with the new baby Nika who was born two months ago seen here and we got to hang, drink, laugh, go to an air show and catch up with family. SO NICE!!! it's always so refreshing when we go visit! i wish they would all move to LA. :)

♥ Brandon was asked to be Giada Scarpelli's Godfather and he couldn't be happier!!! she will be here in 5 weeks or so. Cant wait to meet her! ♥
